Saga
A configurable product manager to organize your product. Built for integration.
Product data management for CAD
Saga tracks every part, assembly and drawing: which revision is current, who has it checked out, what uses it and who changed what.
Files are stored by content hash and never overwritten. Check-out locks keep two people, or two agents, from editing the same revision. HAMR is the first connector, and a public OpenAPI interface leaves room for other CAD tools.
In development: the server and API are working, and the web client is being built.
What it does
Saga is modelled on established PDM systems: items with revisions, datasets and immutable file versions.
- Identity
- Every object keeps a permanent ID, so part numbers can be renamed without breaking references
- Revisions
- Schemes that skip I, O, Q, S, X and Z, roll over from Z to AA and support phases
- Numbering
- Part numbers from templates such as
{type}-{seq:6} - Check-in
- Metadata commits in one transaction, only after every file has arrived
- Audit
- Every change writes a hash-chained, tamper-evident log entry
- Search
- Access rules applied inside the query; tested at 100,000 items with typical searches under 200 ms
Every change on record
Each item shows its revisions and who did what, when. Uploads are chunked and resumable, and identical files are stored once.
